New Delhi: The Centre on Sunday requested the governments of varied states and Union Territories to make sure the usage of liquid oxygen shouldn’t be allowed for any non-medical function and that every one manufacturing items could maximise their manufacturing of liquid oxygen and make it accessible to the federal government to be used of medical functions solely with fast impact till additional orders.

“Further, all stocks of liquid oxygen, should be made available to the Government for use for medical purposes. No exemption is allowed to any industry with regard to use of liquid oxygen,” the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated in its order.

The MHA issued an order below the Disaster Management Act, 2005, earlier on Thursday directing the states and UTs to take numerous measures to make sure an uninterrupted provide of medical oxygen throughout the nation.

In tune with the identical, the MHA had written to all states and UTs to make sure compliance with this order and to offer enough safety to oxygen-transporting autos and make provisions for unique corridors for such transportation whereas treating these autos like ambulances.
