Ozotec Automobile, a producer of electrical two-wheelers, mentioned it plans to raise ₹150 crore fairness for expansion.
Ok. Barathan, Director of the Coimbatore-based agency, instructed The Hindu that the corporate unveiled Filo, a two-wheeler EV in 2020, and had the capability to manufacture 500 to 600 EVs a month (Filo and Filo + fashions).
The firm is establishing a separate manufacturing line to manufacture the Bheem mannequin of EVs. “The capacity will be to make 2,000 to 3,000 vehicles a month,” he mentioned. Production of Bheem, a multi-purpose and all terrain car that’s designed and developed in-house, would start in three months right here and deliveries would begin in 4 months, Mr. Barathan mentioned. “When production goes up we [would] need funds. We are looking at equity and joint ventures,” he mentioned.
Ozotec has almost 50 showrooms/service stations now and this could be ramped up to 150 in one other three months, he mentioned. The firm expects a better demand for Bheem in rural areas.
