A light blast sound was heard near the Army gate of Jorhat military station in Assam’s Jorhat district on Thursday night. However, there have been no stories of any casualty or harm thus far, a police official stated.
He additional stated that the sound of the explosion was heard near the gate of the army station in Lichubari space of the city at round 8 pm. District Commissioner Pullock Mahanta and senior police officers have reached the spot and are at the moment contained in the camp.
Following the incident, safety has been tightened in the realm and patrolling has been intensified throughout the city. The ULFA(I) in an e-mail assertion on Sunday had “claimed responsibility for the two recent blasts in Tinsukia and Sivasagar” which was carried out in response to the ‘conceitedness’ of Director General of Police GP Singh.
