Fans Slam Premier League Decision to Hold Wolves v Chelsea on Christmas Eve

This would be the first time a Premier League recreation can be held on Christmas Eve since 1995.

The Premier League’s resolution to schedule Chelsea’s recreation away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Christmas Eve was criticised by the London membership’s followers who described it as “totally unacceptable” on Thursday.

The recreation was initially scheduled to be performed on Dec. 23 however has been moved to Dec. 24 for a 1300 GMT kickoff, marking the primary time a Premier League recreation can be held on Christmas Eve since 1995.

The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) mentioned match-going followers would face points travelling to Wolves on a vacation weekend.

“It is totally unacceptable that Wolves v Chelsea has been scheduled for Christmas Eve,” CST mentioned in a press release.

“Not only could this lead to staffing issues at Molineux, but holiday transport timetables will further inconvenience supporters.”

CST added that they’d requested a gathering with the Premier League on Tuesday and hoped to focus on the matter together with the Wolves 1877 Supporters Trust and the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA).

Reuters has contacted the Premier League for remark.

“The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust will formally request that the Premier League properly consults supporters on this issue and that they reverse this decision,” it added.

The FSA mentioned it was “shocking scheduling” by the Premier League, including that they stood with supporters’ trusts from each golf equipment in opposing Christmas Eve fixtures.

The Wolves supporters belief had beforehand mentioned the scheduling confirmed a “complete lack of consideration and respect for fans”.
