Farmers now building ‘pucca’ houses at Singhu border

In order to cope with the scorching summer season warmth, on the 106th day of their agitation, farmers have began building ‘pucca’ houses (everlasting buildings made from bricks) at the Singhu border. These houses could be simply seen when one strikes a couple of kilometres forward of the protest website at Singhu border.

Now houses are being constructed at locations the place the farmers had earlier pitched tents. For building ‘pucca’ houses with bricks, masons have been known as all the best way from Punjab.

Karamjit Singh, who takes care of the media cell of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), informed IANS, “On Friday, farmer leaders from Punjab discussed constructing ‘pucca’ houses at Singhu border. The meeting revolved around ways to protect farmers at the border from the scorching summer. There are four houses in all being built at the border, but their number is likely to increase. All these houses will be two-storeyed.”

“Due to a large number of farmers at the border, these two-storey buildings are being built and if the agitation is prolonged further, our preparations need to be stronger.”

Earlier, farmers had arrange plastic tents at the border, by which they may courageous the winter chill however with the onset of summer season, it is going to be troublesome to remain in these tents. Mosquitoes within the evening and the scorching solar through the day has compelled farmers to construct ‘pucca’ houses at the border.

The method by which farmers are making ready to construct pucca houses shows their resolve: they aren’t ready to return to their houses until the goverment repeals the three farm legal guidelines.

Farmers have been agitating on Delhi’s borders since November 26, searching for the repeal of three agricultural legal guidelines handed by the Centre.
