Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government has asked the supply officers in all districts to not give diesel to the farmers.

Rakesh Tikait, a farmer leader, asked the farmers to block roads in cities and towns where they are after news about the state government’s decision spread, as per a report in Hindustan Times’ sister publication Livehindustan.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has given its conditional approval for the farmers’ tractor rally to be held on Republic Day but asked the unions to ensure a peaceful rally.

Special Police Commissioner Dependra Pathak said the tractor rally has been allowed on three routes – Tikri, Ghazipur and Singhu borders, adding barricades will be lifted on these three points.

The top cop further said the tractor rally has been allowed to take place only after the Republic Day parade gets over.
