First case of ‘black fungus’ reported in Himachal Pradesh.
The first case of Mucormycosis, also referred to as black fungus, has been detected in Himachal Pradesh, officers stated on Thursday.
A local of Khagar in Hamirpur district has been recognized with Mucormycosis an infection, Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) hospital’s senior medical superintendent Dr Janak Raj stated.
The lady is presently being handled at IGMC right here, the place she has been referred from Mandi’s Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Hospital Nerchowk, he added.
Her situation is steady and Mucormycosis has been discovered close to her nostril, Raj stated.
The lady can also be affected by diabetes and blood stress, he stated, including that she was examined constructive for COVID-19 on May 4.
She was referred from Hamirpur to Nerchowk Medical College after she began having respiratory downside on May 8, he added.
