(*19*) CBI director Ranjit Sinha died right here on Friday morning in what’s believed to be a COVID-19 associated demise, senior officers stated.
He was 68.
Sinha was an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1974 batch of the Bihar cadre. He had served because the director of the CBI from December 2012 to December 2014.
Senior officers advised PTI that Sinha died in what’s believed to be a COVID-19 associated demise. “It is understood that he was confirmed positive for coronavirus on Thursday night,” the officers stated.
Sinha, a 1974-batch officer of the Bihar cadre, had headed Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) power, the Railway Protection Force, and served at senior positions within the Central Bureau of Investigation in Patna and Delhi earlier than his appointment as CBI chief in 2012.
