Formula One introduced Friday it prolonged the contract to race within the Brazilian metropolis, which was as a consequence of finish in 2025. The monitor has hosted a number of title-deciding races through the years in aggressive seasons.

Interlagos will host this weekend’s race, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen already topped as champion for the third time in his profession. More than 230,000 followers are anticipated to attend from Friday to Sunday.

Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula One, mentioned in an announcement that Interlagos “is a favorite of drivers and fans around the world.”

“It embodies everything that is great about racing, and we look forward to seeing how it develops over the years to come to create an even better experience,” he mentioned.

Alan Adler, CEO of Sao Paulo Grand Prix, mentioned: “It is a great honour to have the contract extension that ensures Sao Paulo’s place on the Formula 1 calendar. This is the recognition of the work we have been doing, with the crucial support of the Sao Paulo City Hall.

“Continuing to be a partner of Formula 1 is a matter of great pride. Now, we will immediately start planning for the years ahead so that we can have even better Grand Prix editions in the coming years.”

The Brazilian Grand Prix has been a part of the racing sequence for the final 50 years, except for 2020 as a result of COVID pandemic. In some years the race happened on the former Jacarepagua circuit in Rio de Janeiro — which is now town’s Olympic Park.

Next season, the Sao Paulo Grand Prix will happen on 1-3 November.
