Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has stated that Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City will become one of the world’s premier international financial centres in the coming years. He talked about plans for vital infrastructure growth, projecting a land space of round 3,400 acres, and the growth of a riverfront that includes international-level retail, recreation, and leisure zones.
Highlighting the forthcoming metro connectivity by mid-2024, Patel emphasised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s imaginative and prescient for GIFT City as a world-class financial, IT, ITeS, and fintech hub catering to India and the international market.
“I firmly believe that the GIFT City is poised to become one of the world’s premier international financial centres in the coming years,” he stated.Â
The state authorities has engaged in discussions with a number of international financial sector corporations throughout the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, garnering curiosity from corporations in international locations like the UAE, Japan, Australia, Singapore, and the US to discover funding alternatives in GIFT-IFSC.
Patel emphasised the operational standing of 580 entities in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), with main investments from famend entities like Google, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley. He highlighted the institution of international universities, aviation leasing actions by IndiGo and Air India, and the growth of India International Bullion Exchange IFSC Limited in GIFT City.
Patel outlined plans for a Global FinTech Leadership Forum throughout the VGGS, the place PM Modi will interact with prime finance and expertise CEOs to focus on the evolving fintech panorama. He additionally highlighted the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), poised to be a distinguished industrial hub, emphasising initiatives like expressways, metro rail, and the Bhimnath-Dholera Freight Rail Line.
“Dholera will serve as a central hub for cluster development, ensuring comprehensive connectivity through initiatives like a four-lane expressway, Metro rail, multi-modal transport, and the Bhimnath-Dholera Freight Rail Line,” Patel stated.Â
Patel emphasised the authorities’s discussions with semiconductor corporations globally, backed by the Gujarat Semiconductor Policy (2022-27) specializing in fostering semiconductor manufacturing inside the state. He talked about Micron’s selection of Gujarat for its manufacturing facility, citing the state’s infrastructure and business-friendly surroundings as key components.
