Give Us Permission, Congress Will Procure Vaccines Sooner than PM Modi, Yediyurappa, Says DK Shivakumar

As India faces a scarcity of vaccines amid the second coronavirus wave, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president DK Shivakumar took to Twitter and mentioned: “Congress Party would like permission to directly approach vaccine makers across the world and procure them. We will show that we can do the vaccination drive better and faster than Modi and Yediyurappa together are able to.”

Minutes earlier than Shivakumar’s tweet, former Karnataka CM and Congress legislative get together chief Siddaramaiah addressed the media and mentioned the state Congress has determined to donate Rs 100 crore to acquire vaccines. Speaking to the media, he mentioned: “We have decided to give Rs 100 crore from the Congress party. But on one condition; the money should only be used to procure vaccines and there has to be transparency on how the money is being spent.”

Most of the states are dealing with shortage of vaccines and those that are aged above 45 are unable to get their second shot. The Centre has now mentioned the hole between first and second jab of Covishield needs to be 12–16 weeks.

Karnataka authorities has introduced strict pointers from May 10 to May 24. The authorities is now trying to lengthen the lockdown for few extra weeks. The lockdown up to now has given higher end result as constructive circumstances dropped down from 20,000 plus to 14,000 in per week’s time.

However, the scenario on the bottom stays unchanged and is getting worse. People are working from pillar to submit to get oxygen, beds, ventilators and vaccines. Two days in the past, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan mentioned that the federal government has given order for 3 crore vaccines and it might take some time to acquire them.

Now, Shivakumar is daring Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to offer Congress permission to instantly method vaccine producers throughout the globe and procure vaccines.
