A COVID-19 activity drive in Goa on Friday determined to train paediatricians and nurses on protocols as specialists have predicted {that a} potential third wave may have an effect on kids, officers mentioned.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who chaired the duty drive assembly right here, mentioned specialists from state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital would start coaching 120 paediatricians and a big quantity of nurses from Monday.
“The required equipment to set up Paediatric Intensive Care Units (ICUs) will arrive in the state by June 10. The GMCH’s Super Speciality Block would be the main centre where the facilities for treating children would be set up. The North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa and South Goa District Hospital in Margao will be kept ready for emergencies,” the CM instructed reporters.
He mentioned these individuals with kids up to the age of 10 might be given precedence in vaccination and requested such mother and father to get themselves inoculated within the 82 centres statewide.
