The authorities on Saturday slashed Integrated GST charge on oxygen concentrators for personal use to 12 per cent, from 28 per cent earlier, for two months until June 30. “IGST on Import of Oxygen Concentrators for personal use has been decreased from 28 per cent to 12 per cent to deliver IGST charge on such personal imports at par with industrial imports of the identical,” the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) tweeted.
This decreased IGST charge for imports of concentrator for personal use shall be relevant up to June 30.
The authorities had final month waived customs obligation on import of medical grade oxygen, oxygen concentrator and associated gear.
Under the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the tax levied on consumption of products or rendering of service is cut up 50:50 between the Centre and the state.
