The authorities has prolonged the export ban on de-oiled rice bran, a significant ingredient in preparation of cattle and poultry feed, till March 31 subsequent yr, in response to a notification. It was first banned in July this yr.
“Export prohibition of de-oiled rice bran is extended till March 31, 2024,” the directorate normal of overseas commerce has stated in a notification.
According to specialists, rise of costs of the feed is among the main causes for growing milk costs within the nation and placing a ban on the exports will help improve availability of the product within the home market, thereby containing charges.
However, Solvent Extractors Association of India had earlier requested the federal government to rethink its determination on banning the exports because the transfer is prone to have minimal impression on the costs of cattle feed and milk. As per estimates, in cattle feed, about 25% rice bran extraction is used.
