Export coverage of onions is amended from free to prohibited until March 31, 2024
The authorities has banned exports of onion until March subsequent 12 months, with a view to improve home availability and to maintain costs in test.
“Export policy of onions… is amended from free to prohibited till March 31, 2024,” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade stated in a notification.
Onion costs in October doubled. In the nationwide capital, the costs began inching up from October 25 when the charges had been at Rs 40 per kg, which doubled to Rs 80 per kg on October 29.
