The authorities on Saturday imposed a minimal export worth (MEP) of USD 800 per tonne on onion exports until December 31 this 12 months with a view to extend availability of the vegetable within the home market and comprise costs. ”Exports on onion is free. Local distributors are promoting onions at Rs 80 per kg.
