In a ‘corrigendum’ issued by the excise division, it was stated that liquor outlets will stay closed on November 24 (Guru Teg Bahadur’s martyrdom day) as an alternative of Christmas (December 25) in Delhi

The Delhi authorities on Thursday introduced a dry day on November 24, ordering closure of liquor outlets in town to look at Guru Teg Bahadur’s martyrdom day.

Christmas will now not be a dry day as introduced earlier by the excise division, officers stated. In a ‘corrigendum’ issued by the excise division, it was stated that liquor outlets will stay closed on November 24 (Guru Teg Bahadur’s martyrdom day) as an alternative of Christmas (December 25) in Delhi.

In its order issued on September 29, the division had declared six dry days throughout October-December, together with on December 25 when Christmas will likely be celebrated. This has now been modified and Friday marking Guru Teg Bahadur’s martyrdom day will likely be a dry day as an alternative of Christmas, the officers added.
