New Delhi: Counting for the Guwahati Municipal Corporation election is underway and based on early outcomes, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has received 5 wards uncontested. The outcomes have been declared for six wards out 57 wards and the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) District Pallav, Gopal Jha stated that the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has received 5 wards. He added that Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) won1 ward (Ward No 1). The counting for the elections began at 8 AM right this moment.

“No untoward incidents like booth capturing or similar poll-related violence took place and the election completed peacefully,” the ASEC stated in an announcement. Out of the whole 60 wards of the GMC, candidates in three had been elected unopposed.
