The Allahabad High Court directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Friday to conduct a ‘scientific survey’ of the Shivling-like construction inside Varanasi’s Gyanvapi mosque to find out its age. It overturned a Varanasi District Court order from October 14 that denied a request for scientific investigation of the construction, together with carbon relationship.
