Canoeist Prachi Yadav and quartermiler Deepthi Jeevanji clinched a gold every on the second day of competitions as India’s medal rush in the Hangzhou Asian Para Games continued on October 24.
Prachi, who had gained a silver in canoe VL2 class on Monday, bagged her second medal of the Games as she picked up a gold in KL2 occasion.
Deepthi then gained a gold in ladies’s T20 class 400m race with the Games and Asian document timing of 56.69 seconds.
Ajay Kumar (males’s T64 400m) and Simran Sharma (ladies’s T12 100m) bagged a silver every whereas Manish Kaurav (males’s KL3 canoe) — who’s the husband of Prachi —, Gajendra Singh (males’s VL2 canoe) and Ekta Bhayan (ladies’s F32/51 membership throw) gained a bronze every.
With the seven medals, together with two gold, thus far on the second day, India’s tally has swelled to 24 (8 gold, 8 silver, 8 bronze).
India picked up a whopping 17 medals, together with six gold, on the primary day of competitions with star shooter Avani Lekhara main the way in which.
Besides Avani (ladies’s R2 10m air rifle standing SH1), the opposite gold winners on Monday had been Pranav Soorma (males’s F51 membership throw), Shailesh Kumar (males’s T63 excessive bounce), Nishad Kumar (males’s T47 excessive bounce), Ankur Dhama (males’s T11 5000m) and Praveen Kumar (males’s T64 excessive bounce).
