Hardik Pandya was on December 15 named Mumbai Indians captain instead of a highly-successful Rohit Sharma, who led the IPL giants to 5 trophies.
The announcement from Mumbai Indians comes after Hardik made a return to the franchise final month, following a high-profile commerce from Gujarat Titans, whom he led prior to now two seasons.

Interestingly, Rohit and Virat Kohli have not turned up for India in the T20 format since the semifinal exit at the World Cup in Australia last year.
