In yet another heinous crime from UP’s Hathras, father of a girl was shot dead by a group of men for lodging police complaint against them for harassing and troubling his daughter. The incident reportedly happened in the Naujarpur village of Sasni Police Station area of Hathras on Monday evening.
According to the reports, the man identified as Amrish Sharma was shot dead by another man Gaurav Sharma aka Golu against whom the former had filed a case of molestation in July 2018, in a village in Sasni. After his complaint, Sharma was arrested and sent to jail, who came out on bail after one month.
Since the registering of police complaint, the two families have not been in good terms. As reported by news agency ANI, Police said that on Monday, wife and aunt of main accused and both daughters of deceased had gone to temple. They argued there over the old case. After this, the accused Gaurav Sharma and the deceased Amrish also reached the spot.
The verbal duel heated up when Amrish was at his field along with other labourers. Gaurav called his family members and close friends, fired several rounds and shot Amrish who died being taken to hospital.
Taking a note of the development, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to take strict action in the matter. He has also given directions to invoke National Security Act against all the accused involved in the case.
As per the latest update by ANI in the matter, Hathras Police has arrested two persons involved in the killing. The district police said they started a probe after they were alerted and teams are on the lookout for other accused.
