With 4 wins and 7 losses in IPL 2024, the Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill is having a powerful introduction to captaincy.

Having not led a franchise earlier than in his comparatively younger IPL profession, the strain of captaincy has adversely impacted his batting too.

Gill was the winner of the Orange Cap within the earlier version of the Indian Premier League with 890 runs however accumulation of runs within the ongoing IPL version has proved tough for Gill.

It will be argued that Gill loved a dream season final 12 months and matching the identical tally of runs was all the time going to be an arduous job however Gill has fallen means quick and isn’t even remotely shut to the mountain that he scaled in IPL 2023.

While it is unsure whether or not Gill will probably be in a position to take Titans into the playoffs this season, his teammate David Miller has come out in his help and talked about that the teen is “adjusting really well to the captaincy”.

“Shubman is an exceptional player, as we all know. He is still young and has a lot to learn. But I feel he is adjusting really well to the captaincy,” stated Miller in his post-match press meet after Gujarat’s four-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday (May 4).

“But I feel it’s a tough one too because the margins are so small.”

Opening up on the loss to RCB, Miller stated that Titans’ bowlers “missed their length” whereas the hosts have been spot on with their size.

“Their (RCB bowlers) lengths have been a lot higher than ours. But we simply missed our size, and within the first two, two and a half, three overs the place they have been already on like 50-60 runs.

“It just looked like they (GT bowlers) were a little bit too far full. I think we were a little bit behind the 8-ball in the power play with our batting and bowling,” he talked about.

Reflecting on the season, Miller felt that Titans could not win the “crucial moments” this season – one thing they’d gained within the earlier season.

“There are sure video games that we probably ought to have gained, that we did lose and have been fairly shut.

If we had gained these two video games, issues would have been very completely different.

“We won crucial moments (last year) and this year we just haven’t been able to win those crucial moments, hence losing the close games,” he added.
