Hertha Berlin’s goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry was sacked over his feedback about migrants and homosexuals.

Hertha Berlin on Tuesday sacked their goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry over feedback he made about migrants and homosexuals days in the past in a Hungarian newspaper.
Hertha mentioned whereas they have been glad with the work of former Hungary worldwide Petry, his feedback went in opposition to the membership’s positions on tolerance and variety.
“The comments made overall do not reflect the values of Hertha,” mentioned membership CEO Carsten Schmidt. “We thank Zsolt Petry for the work done and wish him all the best in the future.”
Petry, who had been on the membership since 2015, had criticised European migration insurance policies in an interview with the Magyar Nemzet newspaper, saying Europe was a “Christian continent.”
“I cannot understand how Europe could morally sink so low,” he was quoted as saying.
He additionally mentioned he couldn’t perceive why Hungary and RB Leipzig keeper Peter Gulacsi was talking up for the rights of homosexuals. Petry apologised for his feedback and accepted the membership’s determination.
“I want to stress that I am neither homophobic nor against migrants,” Petry mentioned within the membership assertion. “I regret my comment regarding the migration policy, and want to apologise to all those people who seek refuge with us.”
