Swaraj India chief Yogendra Yadav said the national and state highways will be blocked from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on February 6.

“Last year, the budget allocation for the financial support extended through loans to FCI for procurement at MSP was Rs 1, 36,600 crores. Less than Rs 85,000 was spent. No amount is allocated this year. Such things make the farmers think it is a conspiracy to shut FCI,” ANI quoted Yadav as saying.

Earlier on January 26, thousands of protesting farmers had indulged in violence and clashed with the Delhi Police personnel during the Tractor Rally. Hundreds of farmers deviated from the route decided by the Delhi Police for the rally and entered the majestic Red Fort.

The farmers have so far held 11 rounds of talks with the ruling dispensation and demanding to repeal the laws passed by the Parliament in September last year.

One of the major demands of the farmers is that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) be made a legal provision to assure a better price to them.
