Assam: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday mentioned that they’re aiming at withdrawing AFSPA completely from Assam by the end of 2023.

In a statement, Assam Chief Minister mentioned, “We are aiming at withdrawing AFSPA completely from Assam by the end of 2023. We will also rope in ex-military personnel to train our police force.”

Earlier in March, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned that the Assam authorities was working to take away the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from 5 extra districts because the legislation and order state of affairs within the state had improved significantly over the last two years.
