Hitachi ABB Power Grid gained orders value Rs 160 crore from Indian Railways electrical locomotive producer Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) and the Central Organisation for Rail Electrification (CORE) to supply electrification or to energy electrical freight locomotives. According to an announcement launched by Hitachi ABB Power Grid, the corporate will ship traction transformers for Chittaranjan Locomotive Works. This supply will probably be finished for considered one of Indian Railways’ most profitable class of electrical locomotives – the WAG 9. The WAG 9 was developed amid strong development within the railway freight transportation sector.
Whereas, for CORE, Hitachi ABB Power Grid will provide trackside transformers. On the inventory trade, the Hitachi Power Grid in India is listed as ‘ABB Power Products and Systems India Limited’.
