As many as 100 passengers have been rescued from the treacherous Changla Axis in Leh after heavy snow enveloped the area, officers stated. The rescue operation was launched on Friday night by police owing to the numerous inflow of vacationers and native passengers requiring help.

Besides the UTDRF (Union Territory Disaster Response Force) rescue crew of Ladakh Police, the Army and GREEF (General Reserve Engineer Force) rescue groups additionally actively participated within the rescue operation. Through their collective efforts, no untoward incidents occurred, and all of the passengers have been safely evacuated to Leh, police stated.

The rescue operation grew to become mandatory due to steady intermittent snowfall over the previous two days, leading to icy and slippery highway situations.
