‘I Am Appealing To You’: CM Mamata Banerjee Speaks To Guv Dhankhar, Alleges Locals Not Being Allowed To Vote

Nandigram: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee spoke to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar over the telephone at a polling sales space in Nandigram as West Bengal undergoes the second section of voting for the meeting election.

She talked to the Governor in presence of media individuals alleging that locals aren’t being allowed to solid their vote.

The West Bengal CM has been quoted as saying: “They didn’t allow the local people to cast their vote. From morning I am campaigning… Now I am appealing to you, please see…”

CM Mamata Banerjee had visited the Golkulnagar sales space at the moment as polling was underway.

While the Chief Minister was inside the varsity, BJP and TMC employees created a ruckus and commenced stone pelting one another claiming that they have been being stopped from exercising their proper to vote.

When the media approached Mamata Banerjee searching for her response over the scenario, she claimed that outsiders are creating violence. Over this, BJP chief Suvendu Adhikari took a jibe on CM Mamata and mentioned that “Begum is worried since the time she heard Jai Shree Ram chants”. 

TMC MP Derek O’Brien clarified TMC’s grievance on this matter as he tweeted: “Trinamool booth agents ROCK SOLID in 354 booths in Nandigram. We have registered complaints for 10 specific booths”.

The political battle for Nandigram is a crucial one since CM Mamata Banerjee faces her former protege Suvendu Adhikari as her challenger. Both have been campaigning extensively to woo voters and safe the seat for his or her respective events.

Right from West Bengal Election Phase 1, ruling TMC has been raised doubts over the Election Commission particularly making a problem over the choice to permit non-locally registered voters to be sales space brokers.

“The new system is just not acceptable to us. We demand that from the subsequent section the polling agent have to be native of the involved polling sales space. CEO has assured us to look into the matter,” Sudip Bandyopadhyay had told media persons after meeting Chief Electoral Officer on Saturday last week.

Meanwhile, how will Election Commission respond to fresh allegations by CM Mamata Banerjee – remains to be seen.
