American singer Demi Lovato, who lately declared they need to be recognized as non-binary, has opened up on insecurities and fears, saying they reduce their hair to be free from gender and sexuality norms.

“I was attempting one thing that didn’t work for me. Now I am doing one thing that’s working for me and, as a substitute of feeling judged by everybody, I’m simply going to say that individuals’s opinion of me doesn’t matter to me,” said Lovato, on The Drew Barrymore Show.

“I’m doing what I need to do for myself and my wellness. I’m putting myself in front of my career and that is something I never did before because I was so preoccupied trying to be the sexy feminine pop star that I just ignored who I was,” the singer added.

Lovato has a sense of liberation after the haircut.

“I reduce my hair to be free of all of the gender and sexuality norms that had been positioned on me as a Christian within the south and when I reduce my hair, I felt so liberated. I wasn’t subscribing to a super or perception that was positioned on me to be one thing that I am not and now that I am proudly owning who I am, I really feel the happiest I have ever felt,” Lovato stated.

The singer feels they have shared all the secrets out to the world. “This is the reason I am being honest. Secrets keep you sick and I fully believe it and now there aren’t any secrets for the world to find out because I have put it out there,” Lovato concluded on the present that airs on Zee Cafe in India.
