New Delhi: Garima Singh’s journey is a testomony to the twists and turns life can take, main her from an preliminary dream of turning into a physician to a distinguished profession as an IAS officer. It was throughout her faculty years that she skilled a profound second of revelation, redirecting her path in the direction of civil providers. In 2012, she entered the realm of public service as an IPS officer, a choice that finally led her to realize the coveted rank of IAS in 2016, an achievement marked by a formidable All India Rank of 55.
Born and raised in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, Garima pursued her undergraduate and postgraduate research at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, laying the educational basis for her future endeavours.
Reflecting on the pivotal incident that steered her in the direction of the IPS, Garima recounted a poignant encounter at a roadside checkpoint. Despite going through undue stress to pay a bribe, she stood agency in her rules, refusing to succumb to corruption. This expertise ignited a fireplace inside her, driving her dedication to reform the system from inside. Thus, her resolution to hitch the IPS was fuelled by a deep-seated want to instigate significant change in legislation enforcement practices.
Her journey as an IPS officer commenced along with her posting in Uttar Pradesh, the place she diligently served the group. However, it was her ambition to fulfil her father’s aspirations that led her to pursue the IAS, finally attaining success in Jharkhand by the rigorous UPSC examination.
