The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) and Indian Navy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote expertise growth, revolutionary options and joint R&D. The collaboration focuses on joint Research and Development initiatives involving groups from Centre of Excellence (Marine Engg.) at INS Shivaji, Lonavla and IIT Kanpur.
“This collaboration serves as a testament to IIT Kanpur’s dedication to advancing knowledge, fostering strategic partnerships, and contributing to the nation’s defence capabilities through academic and technological prowess. As a premier institution known for its cutting-edge research and technological advancements, IIT Kanpur can bring its expertise to address real-world challenges faced by the Indian Navy,” Prof. S. Ganesh, Director, IIT Kanpur stated.

The MoU was signed on the Naval Headquarters, New Delhi. It symbolised the institute and the Navy’s dedication, the IIT stated. Rear Admiral Okay Srinivas, Asst. Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refits) and Prof. S. Ganesh, Director, IIT Kanpur signed this MoU. This Strategic alignment signifies a step ahead in strengthening the collaborative relationship between academia and the armed forces to foster a conducive surroundings for innovation and data alternate.

The Ministry of Education together with the IIT Kanpur had earlier launched SATHEE (Self-Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams), a web-based schooling platform to assist college students throughout the nation put together for aggressive exams. The platform includes a complete suite of assets for NEET and JEE aspirants, together with video lectures from colleges of IITs and IISc. It has been designed to present intensive preparation and revision in a brief interval, excellent for college kids trying to consolidate their studying earlier than exams.
