IND vs SA: ICC Rates Cape Town Pitch As Unsatisfactory Following Shortest Test Match Ever In History


The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday gave an “unsatisfactory” score to the Newlands pitch in Cape Town following a low-scoring second Test between India and South Africa. The determination was made below the ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process, following the conclusion of the shortest-ever accomplished Test match in Cape Town’s Newlands, with 642 balls bowled in whole.

One demerit level is awarded to venues whose pitches and outfields are rated by the match referee as unsatisfactory. On reaching six demerit factors, the venue is suspended from internet hosting any worldwide cricket for 12 months. The penalty is 24 months in case of 12 demerit factors. These factors stay energetic for a rolling five-year interval. Cricket South Africa has 14 days to attraction in opposition to the sanction.
