FIH Hockey Pro League matches between India and Great Britain which have been to be performed in London on May 8-9 have been postponed.

The FIH Hockey Pro League matches between India and Great Britain, scheduled for May 8-9 in London, have been on Wednesday postponed following the UK authorities’s choice so as to add India to the journey ‘red list’.

“FIH, Hockey India and Great Britain Hockey are monitoring the evolution of the situation in the hope of rearranging these matches at a later date,” a FIH launch mentioned.

India will nonetheless journey to Europe in May to play the Pro League matches towards Spain (May 15-16) and Germany (May 22-23) whereas Great Britain will host Germany (May 12-13), USA (Women, May 22-23) and Spain (Men, May 22-23).

Australia and New Zealand are persevering with their efforts to discover a date for the matches between them following the announcement of a trans-Tasman journey bubble this week.

The UK authorities added India to its COVID-19 journey ‘red list’ on Monday. From April 23 onwards, UK residents arriving from India must quarantine in a resort for 11 nights.

Others from India will be unable to journey to the UK in any respect. India have recorded a complete of two,95,041 contemporary infections within the final 24 hours whereas the lively circumstances crossed the 21-lakh mark.
