The group stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will reportedly witness the marquee clashes between arch-rivals India, and Pakistan and Ashes adversaries Australia and England as they’ve been clubbed collectively in the same groups.
As per a report by The Telegraph, India and Pakistan discover themselves in Group A whereas the defending champions England and the winners of the 2021 version of the multi-nation match, Australia, are in Group B. A complete of 20 groups are collaborating in the T20 carnival and have been divided into 4 groups (Group A, B, C and D) of 5 every.
Group A contains Ireland, Canada and the co-hosts of the occasion USA alongside India and Pakistan whereas Australia and England could have Namibia, Scotland and Oman for firm in Group B.Â
On the opposite hand, co-hosts West Indies, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea represent Group C and South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal kind Group D.
The prime two groups from all 4 groups will advance to the Super Eight stage of the match and the Super Eight can be determined by pre-tournament seedings. Notably, groups slotted in Group A will play all of their fixtures (group stage) in the USA whereas the nations positioned in Group B will contest in the Caribbean.
