India Ready to Host 2036 Summer Olympics and 2030 Youth Olympics: Sports Minister Anurag Thakur – News18

Evoking the nation’s sporting successes lately, Thakur emphasised the necessity to preserve sports activities on the forefront and hailed Indian athletes’ historic efficiency.

Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s imaginative and prescient of India internet hosting international sporting occasions, the Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs stated that the nation is prepared to host the 2030 Youth Olympics and the 2036 Summer Olympics.

“[PM Narendra] Modi ji clearly said during the IOC session that India is ready to host the 2030 Youth Olympics and the 2036 Summer Olympics. The moment the bid starts, we will be ready. We are the world’s third-largest economy, and we are also a country with enormous youth power. There is no bigger market for sports and expansion than India. So, yes, India is ready to host the 2030 Youth Olympics and the 2036 Summer Olympics,” stated Thakur at CNN-News18’s Rising Bharat Summit.

The subsequent Summer Youth Olympics shall be held in Dakar, Senegal, in 2026. After the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the 2028 and 2032 editions shall be hosted by Los Angeles and Brisbane, respectively.

4000 Fans Flew in from UK for Dharamsala Test

“When the England team played in Dharamsala, they said it was the most beautiful stadium in the world. For the first time, nearly 4000 fans flew in from the UK to watch the 5th Test in Dharamsala. It is a local economy and a huge thing for sports,” he concluded.
