India to unveil new Foreign Trade Policy 2023-28 on Friday

India will unveil its much-awaited new Foreign Trade Policy 2023-28 on March 31, 2023, with a view to increase exports amid slowing world commerce.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will announce the overseas commerce coverage, in accordance to the ministry.

The present overseas commerce coverage (2015-20) is in drive until March 31, 2022.

The time period of the earlier 5 12 months coverage had led to March 2020. However, it has been prolonged repeatedly in wake of Covid outbreak and ensuing lockdowns.

The final extension was given in September 2022 until March 31, 2023.

Mr. Goyal will announce the overseas commerce coverage which is predicted to define the imaginative and prescient assertion for taking India’s items and companies exports to $2 trillion by 2030.
