Mumbai: In order to cope with the drone conspiracy, Indian Navy’s Western Naval Command (WNC) has prohobited the flying of any authorised aerial drones, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or personal helicopter inside an space of three kms from the perimeter of Naval Installations in Mumbai.
In addition to this, strict authorized actions can even be taken if any particular person or civil company is caught flying aerial drones inside these zones for any cause. The Western Naval Command has given clear directions that if any drone is discovered inside a radius of three km of the headquarters, the Navy will destroy it.

Director General Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) permission is critical earlier than flying a drone or personal ship. A replica of permission letter should be submitted to Headquarters, Western Naval Command no less than every week earlier than the scheduled flying operation.
The Navy mentioned, “At least a week before the schedule of flight operations, its approval has to be obtained from the website of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and a copy of the sanction letter should be handed over to the Western Naval Command here. Flying drones within the area is prohibited. Most of these restrictions are already in place, but these strict rules are being repeated after the recent drone attack on an Air Force technical station in Jammu on June 27.”
According to sources, some suspicious exercise has been indicated on the premise of which this determination has been taken. It is value mentioning that the Mumbai Police has already banned drones. Flying a drone within the skies of Mumbai isn’t allowed and a strict motion could be taken for violating the foundations.
The Indian Navy reserves the best to confiscate or destroy any aerial drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) discovered flying inside these areas with out prior approval.
