Indian Railways: 18 Delhi-bound trains running late amid severe fog conditions

As dense fog conditions proceed to prevail within the nationwide capital, as many as 18 trains are running delayed on Monday. According to Northern Railway, of the 18 trains, two are running late by six hours. This contains the Hyderabad-New Delhi Express and Jammutawi-Ajmer Pooja Express. 

Kaithar-Amritsar Express is prone to arrive late by 5 hours whereas no less than two trains are anticipated to reach late by round two and half hours, the railway officers stated.

The officers additional said that as many as 9 trains are running late by round 1-1.5 hours together with Amritsar-Nanded Express, Saharsa-New Delhi Vaishali Express, Prayagraj-New Delhi Express, Ambedkarnagar-Katra Express, Pratapgarh-Delhi Junction Express, Chennai-New Delhi Express, Amritsar-Mumbai Mail, Manikpur-Nizamuddin Express, and Dibrugarh-Lalgarh Avadh Assam Express.

Dense fog engulfs North India 

Northern India woke as much as thick fog on Monday, dealing with chilly wave conditions as visibility dropped to zero at a number of locations together with Delhi. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), visibility was recorded as ‘zero for the primary time this winter season in Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan, Patiala, Ambala, Chandigarh, Palam, Safdarjung (New Delhi), Bareilly, Lucknow, Bahraich, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Tezpur. 

Fog hits rail and air site visitors too 

Following dense fog conditions within the nationwide capital, the Delhi police suggested commuters to drive slowly and preserve correct distance. The site visitors was impaired in a number of components of Delhi as thick fog prompted low visibility. The flight operations are prone to get affected as a result of fog, airport officers stated. As per the airport officers, dense fog conditions proceed to prevail within the area, inflicting zero visibility, and the Runway Visual Range (RVR) in any respect 4 runways continues to stay at 50 to 100 meters.
