Indian women should play an equitable role to ensure complete financial inclusion: Airtel Payments Bank


Airtel Payments Bank in affiliation with Frontier Markets and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth launched ‘She Leads Bharat:Udyam’, a country-wide initiative to elevate 1,00,000 women-owned small companies with sources, instruments and alternatives to develop and diversify their incomes.

In the primary section, this initiative would allow 1,00,000 women-owned small companies in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to study and earn by way of Frontier Markets’ proprietary, versatile Meri-Saheli platform. 10,000 of those women small enterprise house owners can be additional enabled to develop their enterprise by changing into Airtel Payments Bank Business Correspondents (BCs) and unlock further income streams, stated an announcement from Airtel Payments Bank.

Anubrata Biswas, MD CEO, Airtel Payments Bank, stated the initiative was aimed toward constructing a financially-inclusive economic system the place women play an equitable role.

“With this collaboration, with Frontier Markets and Mastercard, we are taking our commitment forward to empower women in rural India to embark on their entrepreneurial endeavours,” she added.

Airtel Payments Bank would onboard these 1,00,000 women entrepreneurs as BCs, and who in flip would play an important role in taking banking and financial providers to underserved rural pockets of the nation, stated the corporate, which already has an current community of fifty,000 women BCs.
