New Delhi: As many as 50,000 startups have been recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) thus far, an official assertion stated on Thursday.
Startup India is a flagship initiative of the federal government launched on January 16, 2016. The initiative is meant to catalyse a startup tradition and construct a robust and inclusive ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in India.
The recognised startups are eligible to avail the advantages throughout a spread of legal guidelines, rules, fiscal and infrastructural assist.
“As on June 3, 2021, 50,000 startups across have been recognised as startups by DPIIT, of which 19,896 have been recognised since April 1, 2020,” the commerce and trade ministry stated.
With the launch of the Startup India initiative, recognised startups have now unfold throughout 623 districts, it stated, including every state and Union Territory has not less than one startup, and 30 states and UTs have introduced particular startup insurance policies to assist them.
