A Guwahati-bound flight from Mumbai made an emergency touchdown in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka due to fog across the vacation spot airport, officers mentioned on Saturday (January 13). The flight, earlier right now, returned on the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on Saturday, officers mentioned. The flight, scheduled to arrive right here on Friday night time, landed at 11.10 am, they mentioned. It had departed from Dhaka at 10.54 am (Bangladesh time).
“Flight 6E 5319 was flying from Mumbai to Guwahati. But due to dense fog, it couldn’t land in Guwahati. Instead, it landed in Dhaka,” officers mentioned earlier right now.
The passengers, with out their passports, had been seated contained in the flight on the Dhaka airport. The emergency touchdown had to be made due to fog across the Guwahati airport, officers mentioned.

“IndiGo flight 6E 5319 from Mumbai to Guwahati was diverted to Dhaka, Bangladesh due to bad weather in Assam’s Guwahati. Due to operational reasons, an alternate set of crew is being arranged to operate the flight from Dhaka to Guwahati. The passengers were kept informed of updates and were served with refreshments on board,” IndiGo mentioned.
The incident happened late Friday night time, the airline mentioned.

A passenger on board the Guwahati-bound flight mentioned on a social media platform that the flight was diverted to Dhaka due to “dense fog”. All the passengers are contained in the airplane as they do not have passports, the passenger mentioned of X on Saturday.
“I took IndiGo flight 6E 5319 from Mumbai to Guwahati. But due to dense fog, the flight couldn’t land in Guwahati. Instead, it landed in Dhaka,” Suraj Singh Thakur, All India Congress Committee delegate and a former state Youth Congress working president mentioned.
“Now all the passengers are in Bangladesh without their passports, we are inside the plane,” he mentioned.
