The Indian Premier League 2021 season was suspended a few weeks again resulting from the Covid disaster in the nation and an alleged bio-security bubble breach. As per a report in TOI, it’s reported that players refused to take the jab before the tournament. Apparently, they refused it due to the after-effects it has like delicate fever and physique ache. The similar report means that the abroad players had been pleased to get vaccinated, however some Indian players weren’t.
“The players were simply reluctant about taking the vaccine when they were offered. It was not their fault, it was more about lack of awareness,” a supply monitoring the developments advised TOI.
Some franchises nonetheless managed to persuade their players to take the jab, whereas some others couldn’t.
“The players felt the bubble they were in was secure enough and there was no need to take the vaccine. The franchises too did not push for it. Then things suddenly spiralled out of control,” the supply added.
Despite being in constitution flights, many franchises felt they had been ‘sitting ducks’ once they had been made to journey to Delhi at the peak of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, with 31 video games nonetheless left to be performed, it’s reportedly believed that the BCCI is eyeing the September window to conduct the tournament. The BCCI has confirmed that the the rest of the tournament is not going to happen in India.
