IRCTC Online Bus Ticket Booking: The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a new bus ticket booking service through its new microsite http://bus.irctc.co.in., which allows passengers to book bus tickets online with seat selection options. The e-ticketing arm of Indian Railways, which already provides the facility of booking online railway and flight tickets for passengers, launched the new bus ticket booking service, which went live on January 29, 2021, according to a recent statement released by the Ministry of Railways. According to IRCTC, the integration of the online bus ticket booking service with the IRCTC mobile app is expected to be completed in the first week of March 2021. For the bus ticket booking service, IRCTC has tied up with more than 50,000 state road transport as well as private bus operators, covering 22 states and three union territories, for providing the bus ticket booking facility to passengers.

- Visit the official IRCTC bus ticket microsite: http://bus.irctc.co.in.
- Enter the bus stop from where you need to depart from in ‘depart from’ field
- Enter your destination stop in ‘going to’ field
- Enter the departure date or the day when you want to travel
- Click on ‘search bus’
- Select the appropriate bus and seats
- Make the online payment through debit/credit cards or e-wallet
The new facility of online bus ticket booking will allow passengers to view from a variety of buses and choose the appropriate bus for travel, according to route, amenities, reviews, ratings, and bus images available on the site. Along with this, passengers will be able to choose their pick-up and drop points, timings, and book their journey through digital banking or e-wallet options.
According to IRCTC, the new bus ticket booking facility will enable last-mile connectivity service to passengers already using the services of IRCTC for train or flight ticket booking. Meanwhile, the Indian Railways authorities received an allocation of Rs 1.1 lakh crore in the recently presented Budget 2021 on February 1, 2021, out of which Rs Rs 1,07,100 crore is for capital expenditure.
