Is the gay angle being played down in Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor’s Dostana 2? : Bollywood News - Bollywood Hungama

With the ethical police on crimson alert in Bollywood, an increasing number of filmmakers are shying away from going into unconventional plots. One hears the gay theme in Karan Johar’s forthcoming Dostana 2 is being “severely toned down” as it’s felt that the Indian audiences are usually not prepared but for similar-intercourse relationships on display screen.

When Dostana had been launched in 2008, there was a hue and cry from the LGBTQIA+ neighborhood about the movie’s protagonists Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham ridiculing homosexuality by pretending to be gay. There is not any pretence of homosexuality in Dostana 2. However, the movie’s lead Kartik Aaryan apparently acquired apprehensive about his picture .

“Karan Johar and his director Collin d’Cunha have toned down the gay references heavily,” informs a supply.

Initially, Dostana 2 featured Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan as siblings who fall in love with the similar man (newcomer Lakshya Lalwani). Apparently, the story is totally different now.
