Retaliating for a lethal Oct. 7 assault by Hamas gunmen, the Israeli navy is targeted on Gaza City, Hamas’ stronghold in the north of the territory
Israel stated on Tuesday its forces have been working deep in Gaza City in their battle to wipe out Hamas in the Palestinian enclave and stated the Islamist militant group’s chief was trapped inside a bunker there.
Retaliating for a lethal Oct. 7 assault by Hamas gunmen, the Israeli navy is targeted on Gaza City, Hamas’ stronghold in the north of the territory. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant advised a televised information convention that Israeli troopers had superior to the guts of Gaza City and “were tightening the noose”. Troops on foot and in armoured autos and tanks “have one target – Hamas terrorists in Gaza, their infrastructure, their commanders, bunkers, communications rooms,” Gallant stated.
Hamas’ most senior chief in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, was remoted in his bunker, Gallant stated, including it was Sinwar “who a month ago made the murderous decision to attack Israeli civilians, women, and children.” And now, he’s “cut off from his surroundings, his chain of command is weakening,” Gallant stated. Hamas’ navy wing had no fast touch upon the doable destiny of Sinwar.
Below town, Gallant stated, there have been kilometres (miles) of tunnels that ran below faculties and hospitals and that housed weapons depots, communication rooms and hideouts for militants. Security sources advised Reuters Israel’s navy was beginning the following part of its conflict, targeted on finding and disabling Hamas’ labyrinth of tunnels, and it could take months to full.
