“It is being considered,” Nikkhil Advani confirms Bellbottom’s direct-to-OTT : Bollywood News - Bollywood Hungama

The biggies that had been patiently awaiting their likelihood in film theatres have one after the other by one determined to shift loyalties to the digital platform. The newest on that entrance is director Ranjit Tiwari’s interval thriller Bellbottom that includes Akshay Kumar within the lead. The producers Nikkil Advani and Pooja Entertainment had categorically denied any plans to go for the digital possibility. And the movie was poised for a theatrical launch.

But now seeing the best way the Covid disaster is heading, possibilities of Bellbottom conserving its 28 May launch date in film theatres appears unimaginable. The movie is now being offered to Disney+ Hotstar for an early digital premiere. Confirming this improvement, producer Nikkil Advani says, “I believe it is being considered. But the final monetizing lies with Pooja Entertainment.”

Interestingly this is Disney-Hotstar’s second premium acquisition that includes Akshay Kumar. Laxmii which was acquired at an astronomical quantity had a disastrous premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on November 2020.
