A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor was shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama’s Tral space late on Wednesday.
As terrorists opened hearth on Rakesh Pandita, he was rushed to a hospital the place his situation was said to be essential. But, he later succumbed to his accidents.
Security forces cordoned off the realm and a manhunt was launched to nab the attackers.
According to the police, Rakesh was going to fulfill his good friend Mushtaq Bhat when he was attacked. Bhat is alleged to be significantly injured.
“Late in the evening today, 3 unidentified terrorists fired upon Municipal Councillor, Rakesh Tral Bala who was visiting his friend at Tral Payeen. Rakesh Pandita succumbed to injuries whereas daughter of his friend is seriously wounded,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police mentioned in an announcement.
The councillor used to reside in a safe lodging in Srinagar and was supplied with 2 PSOs.However, he was not accompanied by the PSOs throughout his go to to Tral.
Former Jammu and Kashmir CM mentioned she was “shocked” to listen to of the BJP chief’s killing. “These senseless acts of violence have brought only misery to J&K. My condolences to the family & may his soul rest in peace,” Mufti mentioned.
Altaf Thakur, BJP spokesperson in J-Ok, strongly condemned the killing, and termed the assault “barbaric”. He mentioned that such assaults will not cease BJP leaders from serving the individuals. He mentioned that attacking unarmed individuals is not any bravery and that police should monitor down the culprits and punish them accordingly.
