AMES, Iowa: Jake Waters has been promoted to Iowa State operating backs coach after working as a senior offensive high quality management employees member the previous three years, Cyclones coach Matt Campbell introduced Thursday.
Waters, an ISU graduate assistant in 2017, coached tight ends, fullbacks and broad receivers at UTEP over three seasons earlier than he returned to Ames in 2021.
“Jake is a valuable and talented member of our coaching staff and we are excited to see him in this new role,” Campbell mentioned. “He has earned this opportunity because of his hard work and the impact he’s made during his four seasons with the program. His experience on our staff will make this a seamless transition for him and our team as he moves into this position.”
Waters was nationwide junior school offensive participant of the 12 months for Iowa Western Community College in 2012 and a two-12 months beginning quarterback at Kansas State. He returned to Iowa Western as volunteer quarterbacks coach for 2 years earlier than his first stint at Iowa State.
