At least two passengers died on experiencing a sudden jolt after the driving force of a Delhi-bound prepare utilized emergency brakes as an overhead electrical wire snapped in Jharkhand’s Koderma district on Saturday, East Central Railway officers mentioned.

The identities of the deceased will not be instantly clear.

The accident occurred close to Parsabad between Gomoh and Koderma railway stations at 12.05 pm. The Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express was working at a velocity of 130 kmph when the driving force utilized the emergency brake to cease the prepare after the overhead electrical wire fell on it, officers mentioned.

The prepare was then dropped at Gomoh by a diesel engine from the accident spot and despatched to Delhi by an electrical engine.

“As electric supply stopped all of a sudden, emergency brake was applied to stop the train, and two persons died due to jerk,” Senior Divisional Commerce Manager of Dhanbad Railway Division Ameresh Kumar mentioned.

Train motion on the grand chord line underneath the Dhanbad Railway Division of ECR resumed after over 4 hours of halt following the accident.

Dhanbad Railway Division Manager KK Sinha together with senior officers additionally reached the spot to take inventory of the scenario.
